CBD Products For Sex: CBD May Help People (Especially Women) Experience Better Sex
Most CBD products revolve around the idea of health, wellness, and pain relief. It seemed only a matter of time before CBD products for sex ended up becoming a trend in the market. That time has arrived.
Testimonials are popping up in many different places on how CBD products can help women enjoy sex more, especially those who experience pain during sex.
Devotees claim that CBD suppositories can help with everything from pain relief to enhancing sexual pleasure—and some even say they think using them has helped reduce general feelings of stress,” according to cannabis site Miss Grass, summing up the situation nicely.
But what exactly are CBD products for sex and how do they work?
CBD Reduces Pain and Stress
A doctor-reviewed report in Healthline recently went over some of the issues surrounding CBD products for sex. It focused on CBD suppositories, which the site said are “ small round or cone-shaped medications designed to be inserted into the vagina, anus, or urethra.”
It should be noted that CBD can’t get you high. That only happens with THC, which is only present in small amounts (if at all) in CBD products. CBD products in many states only come from THC-free hemp.
Doctors interviewed for the article said women use the suppositories to minimize pain they might experience during sex. Some also reported that patients felt the CBD enhanced the pleasure of sex, as well.
Why suppositories rather than pills? Because the CBD hits the bloodstream faster. Also, there are cannabinoid receptors in the pelvic tissues, allowing for more targeted pain relief. It’s also not uncommon for women who experience vaginal dryness to use suppositories that help with that issue, so it’s not an uncommon approach to situations involving sex.
Should You Use CBD Products For Sex?
There is a frustrating lack of research both on cannabis and issues around sex. However, users of CBD products for sex have reported they enjoyed the experience and that it (at least) made sex less painful, if that is an issue for them (as it is for many women). CBD also can reduce inflammation and reduce muscle aches and pains.
Women should also know the side effects, which may include diarrhea, reduced appetite and fatigue.
It’s worth nothing that studies around cannabis and sex have shown that women seem to benefit. For example, a study in the journal Sexual Medicine reported that women who use cannabis reported deeper relaxation, better orgasms and a higher level of satisfaction with their sex lives.
Another study, done by researchers from St. Louis University, again researched the impact of marijuana on women when they have sex. Of those surveyed, 68% said marijuana made sex more pleasurable and 62% said it increased the pleasure of orgasm.
And the late astrophysicist Carl Sagan famously wrote that marijuana enhanced eating, music and sex – for men and women.
