Men’s Wearhouse Founder Rebranding the Face of Stoners Everywhere
George Zimmer is Men’s Wearhouse Founder and popular former executive. You know, the dress clothing retail chain. Zimmer is famous for guaranteeing “You’re going to like the way you look.” And Zimmer loves pot. He has admitted to smoking it most of his life and has, openly, to the media, offered himself up as an example of responsible, recreational consumption.
“I’ve been smoking marijuana on a regular basis for about 50 years,” Zimmer shared during a recent CNBC interview, adding, tongue in cheek, “As you can see, it’s really impacted me in a negative way.”
Men’s Wearhouse Founder and Marijuana: Legalize It
Zimmer openly supports marijana legalization. He has put his money where his mouth is too. He donated big money in California to aid ballot measures that protect, at the very least, what he calls home cultivation.
His views seem to center around making a clearer distinction between pot and drugs like cocaine and heroine. He’s referred to the prohibition and subsequent criminalization of marijuana in the US as “the biggest con that has been perpetrated on this country in the last century.”
Zimmer is one of only a few established, high profile executives who have gone on record as enjoying pot while advocating for its legalization. And, in doing so, he is helping to rebrand the look of stoners everywhere.
